Subject: East Africa safaris
We had a wonderful experience in Tanzania with Thomson Safaris. . . superb service, wonderful guides, fascinating accommodations, fantastic animal sightings, etc, etc, I thinks trying to go to both Tanzania and Kenya on one safari is far too much. We spent two+ weeks in Tanzania, and there is a lot of driving around over rough roads, so why add more distance to see the same animals? We had to fly home from Nairobi due to the airline changing its Arusha (Tanzania) departure days, and the long drive up to Nairobi was the only unpleasant part of the trip (even though Thomson handled this unexpected change in plans superbly and provided a day hotel in Nairobi for us to relax in.). Be sure to go on a safari that is not going to put you in a minivan with many people, where you may not even have a window seat! Be sure whatever company and safari you choose uses pop-top Land Rovers; the seven of us had two Land Rovers, 3 driver/guides, so were extremely comfortable and had lots of picture-taking, viewing opportunities. Enjoy the experience; this safari was probably the highlight of all of our travels!! Cheers, Bill
