|Subject: November weekend in Pittsburgh|
I was in Pittsburgh this past Memorial Day weekend. The highlight of my
trip was my visit to Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright's home for the
Kaufman family in Bear Run. It is about a 90 minute drive from Pittsburgh,
you MUST make reservations in advance and it will be damp and chilly, but
what a spectacular place! I believe that it was named one of the most
influential works of architecture of the 20th century by an architecture
professionals group in one of those millennial polls. It would be well
worth the time you invest to visit.
Regarding Debbie's recommendations, I second the Cathedral of Learning at the U. of Pittsburgh and its Nationality Rooms, but be aware that they close at about 3:00 on Saturday and are not open on Sunday. I also enjoyed the Frick Fine Arts Building right across the street.
Best regards, Mark
