Subject: Rome
Maybe it is Casa Kolbe. Some friends of my aunt (on a peregrination) stayed there. I have found this info in the Time Out site : Casa Kolbe Via San Teodoro, 44 (06 679 4974/fax 06 6994 1550) Bus to Piazza Bocca della Veritư or Via dei Cerchi. Rates (breakfast L7000 extra) single L105,000; double L135,000; suite L170,000- L190,000 Credit AmEx, MC, V. Hotel services Bar. Conference room. Laundry. Restaurant. Room services Telephone.

You can practically touch the Palatine from Casa Kolbe's street- facing rooms. Spartan decor, spiky beds (definitely not for un-nun- like activities), and school-cooking smells remind you you're in a converted convent, but it's excellent value. All 69 rooms have bathrooms, and there's a big garden and restaurant. It's often part- occupied by big student and tour groups; the staff are very helpful.

Covadonga in Bilbao (wishing I could be in Rome)
