Subject: Re: Suggestions wanted--Prague, Budapest, and Trieste
Just returned from Budapest three weeks ago. We stayed at the Erzsebet , 1364 Karolyi Mihaly utca which is in central Pest. We were especially glad to have visited the Ethnograpahical Museum (which we had not planned) It gave us a much better look into the country and people. We thought it was a great find. We might also have passed up three statues had there not been pictures in our book and two of them are very close to the Ethnographical Museum. One is the monument to Imre Nagy on Nador Utca and the other a statue by Attila Jozsef just next to Parliament. I found the monument to Nagy a very moving moment. One of our favorite restaurants was Fulemule Etterem (walking distance from our hotel) Kofarago utca 5. Alas, the International Monetary group was meeting in Prague while we were in Budapest and things heated up to a point that we cancelled our trip from Budapest to Prague so I am very envious of you. We have put it back on our list. Have a wonderful time.
