We stayed in the Scalinata d' Spana in Rome, located at the top of the
Spanish Steps, across from the very expensive Hassler in March 1998. At that
time, we found that while the room rates were very good the hotel was in need
of updating. The first room they gave us was an interior room with no
windows. Not an acceptable option for us. The management is family owned I
think and very nice. The rooftop terrace where we had breakfast had a
wonderful view.
The only real annoyance was while there was a hair dryer in the small
bathroom, it would shut off after a minute or two of use. The explaination
was that it was a safety feature. Good luck! Rebbi Levin
