Subject: Bohemian Glass &Murano Glass |
My husband and I just returned from spending a few days in Venice &Murano
and were completely blown away with the beauty of the glassware there.
However, we were also a bit (to say the least) overwhelmed with the prices
and didn't make a purchase. I have read that some shops in Venice are
importing glassware from Czech Republic (but maybe not revealing it to be
Czech glass) and I am wondering if anyone knows where most of the glassware
is made in Czech Republic. (Or towns/cities that have shops with glass.) I
saw a lot of beautiful colored vases in Prague a few years ago, but didn't
really pay much attention at the time. Now I would like to find out more.
I'm not interested in the clear carved crystal that is traditional, but in
the more contemporary, intense colored glass similar to what you see in
Venice and Murano.
