Subject: Re: Keep I.D.s Driver's Licences and Passports Safe! |
I second Shelia's advice. I take volunteers to Central/Eastern Europe to
summer teach, and everyone in our groups is required to make copies of
passports, credit cards, and other relevant documents/cards. Each person
also takes 2 passport photos, which makes replacement faster if such a
crisis should occur. When staying in the home location or sightseeing
with the group and host directors, we put passports in the school safe and
carry the copies. But for the normal traveler, just having the copies and
extra photos stashed in safe place in their suitcase can save time in
replacement or reporting loss and can sometimes be used as temporary IDs.
Of course, using money belts or inner bags or secret pockets is a given. Corliss |
