We stayed at a great little hotel. It's on 2 squares in the Gothic Quarter, so there is lots of nice activity during the day like cafés and musicians, but quiet at night and no traffic! The higher you go, the quieter it is but we were on the 2nd floor and it was fine. In the afternoons, we took a break in the room but it didn't seem like we were missing anything because we could hear the pleasant hub-bub of the square.
