|Subject: Re: Travelling with books|
I am always interested in literary connections to my travels. A few years
ago, my husband and I went on the Legal London Walk with Original London
Walks. If anyone is a fan of Dickens or Trollope, the sights of this walk
would have particular meaning. I was thrilled with it.
And we tryed to retrace Trollope's Barchester Chronicles through Salisbury
and Winchester. Of special interest was the Bishop's Palace and the alms
hospital that we found ( with difficulty) in Winchester, which was the
setting for Trollope's The Warden.
Another literary event for us was roaming through Bath, looking for all
the sites from Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.
These literary trips were truly wonderful. I would go back and do each
of them again.
Happy Reading, Debbie
