Subject: Alaska
In 1994, my husband and I cruised the Inside Passage on the Yorktown Clipper. It is a seven-day cruise beginning and ending in Juneau and includes Glacier Bay. This boat has only 130 passengers. If you book the cruise through Tauck Tours they include a naturalist and several excursions. We rafted in Haines, toured Sitka and Skagway and rode the White Pass Railroad to the summit. We spent a day cruising Tracy Arm which is an extra on large cruise ships. You also have the advantage of being at the 'dock' in port and can come and go as you wish instead of relying on a tender to come and go. There are no nightclubs although there is entertainment of some sort each evening, usually related to Alaska. It is comfortable and relaxing--almost like being a guest on a friend's yacht. We will definitely make this trip again.
