Subject: Re: Greece trips!
Welcome, welcome -- Glad to have you aboard. I, too, love to take photos but have not mastered how to do websites 101, yet! Unfortunately, I will have to burden Jude for photos of our trips.

I wanted to add that besides Linda and Don's extensive write-ups on Greece, I may be able to help with other parts of Greece. We try to go every May/June for about 3 weeks to explore and hike. On the the mainland, we have visited only Athens, Sounion and Delphi, but we've been to the islands of Samos, Patmos, Karpathos, Rhodes, Crete, Naxos, Santorini, Sifnos and Folegandros (and Mykonos in l961 while studying in Europe). If any of these appeals to you, I'd be happy to add my 2 cents. We travel very light, staying in rented rooms overlooking the Aegean where available, and staying on each islanduntil we have seen and wish to move on. We always rent cars on the islands in order to save time! Mid-May through June is a terrific period to go to Greece as the georgeous wild flowers are in bloom, the meltemi has died down and the people welcome you as the first of the tourists - well before the onslaught of summer! (We did miss one spring during the war - when we went to Corsica instead - fabulous island - just in case that might interest you!)

Again, welcome -- and happy New Year! Susie Newton, MA
