Marty I agree that here in North America we don't get enough holiday time.
After working in Europe for five years I found it hard to re-adjust. I am
one of the fortunate few who actually gets more than average holiday.
In 2000 I took the entire month of April off (England, France and Israel) and the rest of the year was painful knowing I had no more time to take. This year I think I will spread it out a little more.
I have friends who are able to buy extra weeks off from their employers. Essentially this means you take the time without pay. I would gladly take an extra two or three weeks without pay if my company would allow. Does anyone know how common a practise this is?
