Subject: Re: Amsterdam in April
To Erina, Barb, and others, My question about a car did not refer to Amsterdam since I know it would be foolish to have a car there. It was more a question of getting a car once Amsterdam is done and using it rather than day tripping by train. We really like the freedom and flexibility of having a car in spite of the costs. We would really enjoy wandering about the byways and stopping whenever we chose. I would rather spend 2 or 3 nights in an area and do day trips by car than go back and forth to Amsterdam. I hate spending 3 - 4 hours a day on a train thought don't mind the same amount of time in a car.

In my so far limited research - I have read but have not taken notes - I find a lot to do in the Netherlands. I guess I must get my thoughts on paper before I can figure out if we have time to leave the Netherlands. (I guess you can tell we would rather explore one area in depth than try for multiple countries in a few days.)

How many nights did you stay in Amsterdam? We are far more small town and countryside people than city folks.

Thanks again to all for your advice. Feel free to comment more if you think of things. Erina, will you be around for a GTG?
