I can't help you about cars because we avoid them. We are having to deal with thoughts of renting one to see the Normandy beaches and it is a difficult decision for us to make. We have been to Amsterdam twice and stayed 6 days each time. The first trip we spent the time all in Amsterdam and this last trip we ventured out on three train trips to nearby places. Barb
