The train is probably a great way to get to Scotland from London, but
if you only have two days, you will need a good part of one to get there,
and
the other to get back to London.
If it were me, I would try to fly. There are probably discount airlines
making the trip, but I am not sure. You could probabaly read about them
in
a good major guide book to the UK.
Have you thought about spending your extra two days somewhere closer to
London? I could suggest many wonderful places just an hour or two from
London
on the train, as could many other members, I'm sure.
The Cathedrals towns of Salisbury and Winchester come to mind.... From
Salisbury there are bus tours to Stonehenge and other points of interest.
