|Subject: Principe Hotel|
This was the hotel we stayed in the first time we visited Venice. It is on
the Lista di Spagna, a short distance from the train station. It is
magnificent. We would have stayed there on other visits but, coming as we
have had to in May, the price was prohibitive. The room was beautiful; the
breakfast excellent (they even packed us a going away meal when we had to
leave very early on the train), and the view of the canal from the terrace
Unless this has deteriorated beyond belief in the past 2 and a half years (we peeked in to take a look on our 1999 visit), consider yourself fortunate.
