Subject: Switzerland
We visited Switzerland by rail last summer, and stayed in four towns - Lucerne, Lugano, St. Moritz, and Zermatt. My favorite is Zermatt. It's the 'village' in the shadow of the Matterhorn where no cars are allowed (but look out for the electric luggage carts) It has grown a lot since we visited there 10 years ago, but it still has charm, great restaurants, hikes if you like, cog train up to the Gornergrat where you can view several countries at once. Lugano is very Italian. San Moritz is beautiful and we all enjoyed it, especially taking the cog train up and hiking back down. Lucerne is also beautiful, right on the lake, quite busy, interesting, but my favorite was Zermatt.
