Subject: Re: digital camera advice?
I recently bought a Cannon Elph. It is absolutely the smallest digital available, I think, with a digital screen, although the screen is small. It DOES use memory cards, which are expensive, as you mention, but the ones with floppies are much larger. The Elph is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. It takes great pictures and has many features...enough for me!!! The battery is one that only Cannon sells and costs about $50, but it is rechargeable with a battery charger about the size of a deck of cards. You need to be able to plug it into electricity each night. I love my Elph, but I haven't traveled more than two weeks at a time with it.
