the season isn't really the best for Pianura Padana (Northern Plains)
around Milan and towards Venice and Bologna, the weather could be foggy or
even icy, but you could spend some pleasant days on the Garda Lake (western
shore is better), Verona and the area of Venetian 18th century Villas.
Going south from Milan, I like a lot both Parma and Mantova, pleasant and
rich of historic monuments, plus a gourmet's heaven.
