Subject: Re: Where are you going this year?
Well, for starters, we will have to stay in Pinellas County, FL, (USA) because this is the only place we can travel by Demand/Response Wheelchair Transport. So generally we take day trips. The county will take us anywhere within for $2 and I ride for free, as Enrique's Assistant, since he cannot propel his own wheelchair. Supposedly we could travel anywhere in the world, but experience proves quite otherwise....

Fishing piers are wheelchair accessable, even the beach is to some degree, Sheppard's Resort on Clearwater Beach on the boardwalk, with the finest of foods from all over the world, buffet style, are just a few of our favorite hang-outs. There is often live music there at night too. Oh! And all these great concerts and jazz fests and rock and roll revivals at Coachman Park, downtown Clearwater.....

We have dreamed of taking some kind of little harbor cruise, I have been researching this, but found no vessels that are wheelchair accessable yet.

We are members of the Clearwater Marina Aquarium. This is where Sunset Sam lives and works, painting paintings with his trainer, doing his show every afternoon at 2PM and showing us that he can always learn new tricks. Sunset was a beached bottlenosed dolphin that the Aquarium saved. He is a real artist too, his paintings are amazing! You can see people and fish shapes in them, they are colorful and fun. We visit him when we can. He shares his place with sea turtles, displays about the marine life here and many other beautiful fish and sea critters.

Yours, Sheila &Enrique (Henry) Barrera
