Hello Sandy -
Since it was Connie's first time, I had given her my Paris file and books
and told her to let me know what she wanted to do.
We arrived at 7 am Saturday, took the RER to the 6th, where we were staying
in a friends apt.
Settled in, and got outside as soon as we could - walked through the Lux.
Gardens, then began stopping in wonderful shops, such as Les Olivades
and Amin Kader. This shop carries the superb products from Santa Maria
Novella Farmaceutica in Florence, and I like to keep a constant supply
of their Hidrasol body cream - the best I've ever tried. (2, rue Guisarde
in the 6th, phone 01 43 26 27 37).
Ledoux was the first pastry shop we tried - yum! 12, rue Mabillon, also
in the 6th. Delicious mouth-puckering lemon tart. Restauranteurs came
in by the dozens to get their supply of bread and rolls for the day.
Rue Jacob (still in the 6th)is a favorite of mine - we walked down this
short cobbled street, enjoying the wonderful shops. Flamant, a luxurious
home interiors shop, is on 8 Rue Furstemberg, a tiny court off of Jacob.
Their displays were so tempting - wanted to take so much home! Lush floral
displays - masses of tulips, roses, forced bulbs throughout. As we walked
through the rooms, we stopped and listened to the music - what else but
Cole Porter's I Love Paris... -how fitting!
Crossed the Seine, walked through the Louvre, looking into the glass-
enclosed sculpture galleries.
More to come-
