In not just Florence, but in most areas in Tuscany, schiacciata is the term used for what is commonly called focaccia in North America. Every baker's schiacciata will be a little different. But no need to worry, if you ask for focaccia, the Tuscans will understand what you want, they'll just know you're not a Tuscan - but they can generally figure that one out anyway. Some days, it seems the Tuscans have a language all their own.
