I know I am about a week behind, but internet access has been down!
Pompano Beach, in addition to Marta and George's recommendations: Houston's (I know they said this) is especially good for lunch because it is on the intracoastal and they have a large dock for people to pull up to eat. Sit outside. Houston's is relatively expensive, but the view is great. Cafe Maxx is a four star restaurant on Atlantic Boulevard in a little strip shopping center. It is very, very good. Wine and beer only, and everything a la carte and quite pricey, but worth it for a special occasion. A casual Italian restaurant is Via Condotti on Federal Highway just south of 14th Street. The food is excellent. The service is not very good and the atmosphere leaves something to be desired, but the owners are there every day and ingredients are fresh. Fish is a specialty of the chef. Prices are reasonable. Lisa in Chicago (but sometimes in Pompano Beach) |
