Subject: Convent accommodation outside Florence
I have read of a stay at a marvelous-sounding Ursuline convent, the 15th century Vill I Cancelli in the hills on the edge of Florence, Italy,($9 taxi ride/5 min. or $1 bus ride/30 min., where two can stay for approx. $50 a night with some meals. Her description of this lovely quiet place makes me want to stay there! Perhaps some of you know of it. She also recommends two books on Monastery/Convent lodging in Italy: Lodging in Italy's Monasteries by Eileen Barish http://www.monasteriesofitaly.com and Bed and Blessings by June and Anne Walsh http://www.paulistpress.com
