Hello:
A week's drive in the Yucatan, by my reckoning, is a great intro! There's so much to see &savor, but in a week, you'd at least find out what you'd like to go back to see more deeply. There's something for every interest: Maya ruins, colonial towns, bird reserves, beaches, little villages, scenic waterways. You can easily map out a circuit which would give you a bit of each, or you could just focus on Maya sites &spend the whole week visiting a few of them. The driving's really easy. And a week for diving in Cozumel is perfect: the drift diving is awesome along the reefs between the island &the mainland, &the wall diving is just as fine. The water's warm &if you hit it right, clear clear clear. Gail My wife and I are planning to take a trip to Mexico next winter. We would like to rent a car for a week to tour the Yucatan peninsula, then spend a week in Cozumel, diving. We would love to here from anyone who has travelled the area by car, to get ideas for an itinerary... what is worth seeing? how far can we travel comfortably in a week? |
