As Elma from Glasgow said, there are plenty of wonderful things to do in Ireland &England even if your original plans may require some revamping.

The tourist offices have lots of recommendations in every area &wandering around in market towns, poking around in regional museums &taking time to enjoy meals are fine vacation options. When I'm not able to get out for walks, I love looking for church jumble sales, village fetes or local music events. Usually the adverts are posted around the towns, you just have to look for them. Ask local shopkeepers what's happening, too; you never know what you'll run into!
