Subject: Canada's Maritime Provinces
The western coast is more sparsely equipped as to accommodations and restaurants, but there are a couple of spots we stayed a few years ago that I would recommend. About 2 hrs. from ferry, north of Cornerbrook there are lovely self-catering cabins at Marble Mountain ... fully equipped/bbq/hot tub etc. http://www.explorekayaking.com/accommo.htm

Further north, and within the boundaries of Gros Morne is Rocky Harbour. There we started out at Oceanview Motel (very spacious rooms in new section overlooking the harbour ) We wanted to stay longer but they were fully booked, so the manager arranged for accommodation at the Bottom Brook Cabins nearby. http://www.nfcap.nf.ca/west/RockyHarbour/accommodation/index.html

Again, we wished we could have stayed longer! Newfoundland hospitality can't be beat. If you haven't walked into Gros Morne to take the boat trip through the fiords .. make time for this and for a piece of homemade partridge berry pie in the local restaurant in Rocky Harbour. Anne
