Subject: Expensive travel
For those who might be interested, some friends of ours just returned from a three week trip to Mongolia, Iran, Turkey, etc. The trip was on a charted 757 which they met in London. It was configured for 100 passengers not including crew, there were 87 paying passengers, 17 flight attendants, a chef, 5 pilots, and 3 tour guides. Enroute lectures were given on the places they were to visit, on the ground there was no wait anywhere. It was the trip of a lifetime, but the fare was $35,000 USD per person. While I enjoyed the photos and the tales of the trip, I think I'll skip it. But if anyone has any interest, I will gladly get the name of the operator. We have some other friends taking next March's trip to South America and Australia.
