Subject: Hiking in Burgundy this year
Today a good friend asked us if we had heard anything about closure of hiking trails in Burgundy, France, due to hoof and mouth disease. He is booked to go on a group hiking trip there in September and is already worried that a lot of land/trails may be closed to them. He thinks he should perhaps cancel. While I doubt that land closures will be a problem, I said I would ask you Ziners if you had heard anything at all about any land closures in France. I know that the disease has spread to a few parts of France, but have heard little about any tourist impact. Facts, news, ideas, suggestions about this?? We both will appreciate your input. Cheers, Bill in Baltimore
