Subject: Re: Provence Trip
Hi Fran,

My wife and I did a similar trip in September 1999. We found it was better to stay in one location as we did not have to drag our luggage around with us. To visit many of the smaller places, a car is an absolute must. We based ourselves in a very nice gite(cottage) just outside Sarlat. The old part of this town is an absolute must, if you are in the vicinity that is. Trips around the Dordogne River are very interesting also. There a great many pre-historic and ancient sites that can be visited. If you can get to the Tarn Gorge, I would suggest you do so, as the scenery is absolutely amazing. Should you wish some more specific information please do not hesitate to ask. Also I could forward the part of my travelogue that deals with Provence.
