Subject: Car rental and TGV
We have always rented from AutoEurope and been very happy. Automatic transmission is much more expensive, and if you have ever driven a standard, it all comes back. The smallest car that will hold you and your stuff is all you need. Parking is a problem, and those little cars fit in lots of tight spaces.

My trips on the TGV were rather anticlimactic. I was looking forward to this wonderful feeling of speeding through the French countryside, and found that it felt like I was riding a train through the French countryside. I certainly wouldn't look for an excuse to ride on one again, but would take one if the need arose. Paris is sooo full of wonderful things to see and do. I'm in agreement with Graziella - go to Lyon on another trip.
