Something that nobody has mentioned yet about ATM use... you must have
your money in your primary account. In the UK last fall we were never
given the choice of which account to take money out of, and in my case
it came out of my chequing account as that's the card's prime account.
So if you have all your funds in a savings account, check with the bank
or get a new card that just has that account on it. One of my friends
had to get her brother to transfer funds into her chequing account because
she had left her money in savings, She's also Canadian as i am. Possibly
US bank networks in overseas atm's work differently. I brought two atm
cards, two credit cards and a little in travelers cheques which i didn't
need to use as the ATM's worked fine everywhere.
