To add my experience to the listings on the airport Web site others
have mentioned: I spent New Year's in NYC and took the LIRR to
Ronkonkoma, then the taxi to Islip airport (they matched the van
service's $5 fare) on Jan. 2. The train was late and not a good
experience; also last I checked there were no trains into Manhattan
from 4-7 p.m. when all the train stock is used for outbound trains.
Although I try to save as much as possible, the Hampton Jitney might
be worth the higher price.
