Subject: Re: Refugee Problem in Italy

I live in Trieste (Friuli Venezia Giulia) less than 10 miles from the border. The refugee flow was never a problem here, as most of them crossed the Adriatic Sea in the south. We now read in the newspapers about a lot of illegal immigrants crossing the border every night, they are mostly Kurds and Chinese, and this area is just a transit point to Central Europe, but I never noticed any increase in crime. Actually the Friuli coast is one of the top tourist spots for Germans and Austrians! I don't know the situation in Puglia by first hand, but I believe the strain on services applies only to the police and volunteers serving at the rallying camps. Bye
