Subject: Re: hotels in Paris
We stayed at the Hotel Claude Bernard in the early 90's as a family and my husband stayed there again in 94. It's a great location within walking distance of so much. We really liked it a lot. We had a room facing the street and it was quite noisy in July into the early morning, ah to be young. My husband felt it wasn't quite as clean as he thought it should be, but I thought it was fine- it was a little shabby. It has however been rennovated recently and we tried to get reservations for Oct when we are returning and they only had two nights instead of the six that we wanted. I found it an interesting and safe area and as I say we were planning to stay there in Oct. There was a wonderful bakery across the street when we were there and it was a nice way to start the day. There are a couple of metro stops nearby, cafes and shops. We walked to Notre Dame from there, but we walk all over.
