|Subject: Re: Barcelona|
We have visited Barcelona and love the vibrant cosmopolitan city with much to see and do. Not to be missed: La Rambla; the Berri Gotic, the oldest part of the city which contains the cathedral, and ancient royal palace. Nearby is the Picasso museum another must see. Not to far away is the is the zoo and Museu d'Art Modern, both worth seeing if you have time. Also anything by Gaudi: the Sagrada Familia Europe's most unconventional church, still not completed; Casa Mila La Pedrera, and Parc Guell..
This trip we plan to visit the monastery of Montsarrat, about one hour outside the city, but worth the trip. If you go, be there at noon to hear the boy's choir sing. We also plan to spend more time in the Montjuic area this trip.
The only town we visited outside of Barcelona was Sitges, a seaside town with many shops, restaurants, and bars. A good place to get shellfish, and for a relaxing day at the beach.
Enjoy your trip,
