Subject: ZINE Re: Barcelona in November
Hi Edna:

Jan and I have stayed at the Hotel Colon in the Barri Gotic twice. The first time we declined the first room after inspection and were promptly given a corner suite at no extra charge. The second time we were given the corner suite the first time. We were treated extraordinarily well by the staff and the concierge was knowledgeable and helpful. We tip well, however, including the chambermaids. We made it a point to be as polite as possible including thanking everyone for their service no matter how inconsequential it might have appeared. The Hotel Colon is often described as an English country inn in the midst of Barcelona. For us it was well situated, close the Ramblas and the port. In the afternoon, on the church plaza facing the hotel there are often street musicians. We purchased a CD from a trio playing music that was indigenous to Peru. It is still nice to listen to now, but after spending ten hours on a train in Peru where they played the same music it turns to tears a friend who was with me there. But that is another story.

Enjoy Barcelona, but be sure to see everything Gaudi.
