Subject: Re: Chicago Hotels - Some ideas
If I'm not mistaken, the Blackstone Hotel was gutted at the beginning of the summer, in preparation for turning the space into residential condominiums.

But the location made me think of another old economical standby on South Michigan Avenue. Look into the Congress Plaza, also about 500 something South Michigan. It is a former grand hotel which is a little down at the heels, but nevertheless perfectly adequate. I had some friends stay there in May, and I thought it quite comfortable and acceptable. They were in a two room suite at a special weekly rate of about $110 per night. It is especially convenient to the Museum Campus, and the convention center.

A straightforward Google search turned up a dozen hotel broker sites where the hotel is listed. Here are a couple: http://www.number1hotels.com/il/chicago/congress_plaza_hotel/ http://www.4hotelsinchicago.com/4h-congressplazahotel-ch.htm

Good luck, Joel
