Good Day Ziner's,
I am thrilled to have found this group as my DH and I are planning a trip
to Italy and Spain next September. Now many of you will be saying, this
is an easy trip to plan but let me continue. We will be traveling with
3 children ages 13, 10 and 5 as well as my mom and dad (late 60's early
70's) Must see's for the group are few thus far. The Vatican and some
beach time have been requested. I would rather spend the majority of time
away from the big cities and tourist areas as much as possible. We are
interested in the culture and history of the areas in which we travel.
We would prefer to be centrally located in each country in order to take
day trips rather than packing up the group to move constantly. We will
have 3- 4 weeks in total. Okay...we need ideas, where to stay, how to
travel etc. Any and all advice will be most appreciated.
Now a bit about us. DH and I have traveled a fair amount. Europe(not Italy
and Spain) as well as Australia, Indonesia, Bahamas, Hawaii and throughout
the US and Canada. The children have traveled quite a bit and do quite
well with long flights etc. We are monolingual, English with a wee bit
of French. My Mom and Dad have traveled quite a bit but usually stay in
American style accommodation but I do think they would do well in most
situations. They are both in excellent shape and can out walked most of
Well that's about it. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
