|Subject: train travel in Canada|
After reading Peter's plans to travel in Canada I wanted to mention
about our recent trip in Canada by train. We had originally planned
on our annual trip to Paris, but decided not to go because of the
attacks. Apparently there has been a huge interest in Canadian train
travel in the last few weeks. We got a Corridor Pass, good for
unlimited travel between Quebec and Windsor for 10 days and ended up
going to Quebec, Montreal, and Ottawa. This was extremely enjoyable,
the trains being very comfortable and sociable. The only problem was
getting there early enough so my husband and I could sit together!
We drove from Maine to Quebec initially and found that there was very
little delay at the border, probably because we went during the week
instead of on the weekend. I would highly recommend this form of
vacation to anyone who is looking for a relaxing, affordable vacation.
