Subject: Re: Can we talk? |
We have just returned form a spur of the moment trip to Chicago to visit our
daughter in Crystal Lake. Traveling on Amtrak was a much more enjoyable
experience than expected, something we would not have done except for their
fare sale.
November 15, we leave for Barcelona on a much anticipated trip. After much discussion we decided to go ahead with our plans. On the 20th we board the Norwegian Dream for a transatlantic cruise stopping in Canes, Genoa, Livorno (Florence), Civitavecchia (Rome) and Madeira before crossing the Atlantic. Since we only have one day in each port we want to see as much as possible. Any suggestions for things to see and do in Genoa, and Funchal , Madeira. The aquarium in Genoa is a must see for us, and we plan to take the slay ride in Madeira. Since we have until 10PM in both ports we plan to have dinner ashore. Can anyone recommend a restaurants in either port? My one concern is getting from Civitavecchia to Rome and back, by train, since we must return to the ship by 5:30PM. Does this seam doable? Is there anywhere closer to Civitavecchia we can explore and reach by train? We love to GTG in Barcelona (11/16-11/19), Genoa (11/22), or Madeira (11/28) if anyone is available. A trip to London is planed for January. We ask for suggestions as soon as I firm up our plans. Would love to visit Tuscany , Umbria or Provence sometime next year. Edna Hamilton, NJ |
