Subject: NYC report and (NYC for Christmas)
The best meal we had in NYC last weekend came from Carmine's on 44th Street. I had been told about this place before, but dismissed it as touristy. I was completely wrong. My cousins in NYC eat there regularly and love it, and a friend at USAirways told me that Carmine's is very popular with their crews. It was delicious: spedini to die for, stuffed artichokes, the best Veal Marsala, and the best Italian flavored roasted chicken I have ever eaten. Seriously.

Have fun in NYC.... we did, despite the tension and sadness. I spent 20 minutes in FAO Schwartz, and it was the best 20 minutes of the weekend. I was smiling the entire time I was in there.

We saw many good art shows if you are interested in art. *The Giacometti show at the MOMA was excellent. * I hated Helmut Newton at the ICP but my husband liked it. * Signac at the Met was good. * We saw Czech avant garde glass at the Cooper Hewitt, but they were mounting a Russell Wright show which opens this month, and it sounds great.

Happy travels, Debbie in Pittsburgh
