Subject: Travel to Provence/Dordogne
I agree with Baerbel that the Dordogne is way too far from Provence to be used as a base to visit the area. I've just been looking through some Dordogne photos to send to an editor for use with an article, and am again enthralled with the Dordogne - I think it is spectacular in its own way - such fabulous views of rolling green dramatic countryside, and lots of castles.

But we love Provence too, and agree that the Luberon area is a wonderful place to base oneself to see the area.

As for living among the French - there's a wonderful B &B that we love, not far from Roussillon - in fact you can see Rous. from the windows. But it would not have a kitchen and cooking facilities. I know of an apt. in Lourmarin, also in that area, and a villa further north, near Vaison la Romaine. And I really believe that the French are quite accustomed to sharing their villages with interested travellers. Our experience has been so very positive - especially in the countryside, but even in Paris! If you want more info on these rental properties, let me know. (No benefit to me on these - they are just places I am personally familiar with).
