|Subject: Re: Driving to Alaska|
We took the Port Hardy to Prince Rupert inside passage ferry, 1 1/2 years
ago and it was a wonderful scenic trip. At times you are almost a stones
throw away from the islands and mainland. It takes about 12-14 hrs. From
Prince Rupert you would head west towards Prince George (about 5-6 hrs. I am
guessing. My husband would know the exact mileage but he is away at
present.) and head north to ( about 5 hrs.) Dawson Creek, mile 0 of the
Alaskan Highway. I am assuming that you mean the ferry and not a cruiseship
departing from Vancouver. Distance between Dawson Creek and Fairbanks is
1488 miles. Many people will drive one way and ferry back to Prince Rupert.
This website gives some good information.
