When in Venice, don't miss Chiesa dei Frari., It's full of stunning paintings and sclupture, the most outstanding are the paintings by Titian and Bellini. The Galleria del'Accademia is worth seeing and if you are interested in more modern art, visit the Peggy Guggenhiem Collection.

Last year, my husband and I ate at the Trattoria Al Cugnoi, run by three friendly sisters, it was very good and inexpensive--they don't take credit cards. For a more upscale place try Gonderleri, great food and service.

We're going back this Spring to see some of the places we didn't have time to see before, one of them is Torcello which has some very old churches.

A good book for researching buildings and artwork is ART IN VENICE, it has good pictures of what you may want to see.
