Hi -- Art asks about a Cotswold village B&B Inn in January with a car.
We have spent lots of time in the Cotswolds and have never made advance
bookings even in the summer. So I would imagine that, in January, there
would be plenty of choice....b and b's, inns, hotels....in all price ranges.
We like the smaller, pretty villages such as Lower Slaughter, the Swells
(Upper and Lower), Bourton-on-the-Water (busy in high summer season),
Snowshill, Stanton, Dorn (not really a village, just a few beautiful Cotswold
stone houses, north of Moreton-in-Marsh). With a car, you can have a wonderful
time exploring all of the villages from anyplace---the Cotswolds are not
that big by car. We have explored most of the area by car, by bicycle,
and by foot (There are a plethora of wonderful walking trails connecting
the villages and towns---and lots of books and pamphlets available in
the area delineating these. Also, there are wonderful, scenic pubs in
practically every village and along the waysides. Take your time, wander
slowly, and absorb the atmosphere. Enjoy! Cheers, Bill
