Subject: Labrador officially added to province's name
Hi Ziners,

Here's news about Canada: The federal government has approved a constitutional amendment officially changing the name of the province of Newfoundland to Newfoundland and Labrador.

In a ceremony at Rideau Hall, Governor-General Adrienne Clarkson proclaimed the amendment, which was passed in response to a resolution in the Newfoundland House of Assembly in April of 1999.
