Subject: favorite spot in Canada
Well, can't say that I've been to too many places in Canada... but I love Whistler (mentioned in an earlier post) and I love Vancouver. I'm lucky to live only 2.5 hours away from Canada and often get there for quick weekend trips. It's amazing that 2.5 hours away can take you to a different country, different currency, accent, system in which to measure (metric still confuses me!), yet still be so close to home. I have found Canadians to be very helpful, hospitable, enjoyable folks.

If anyone is going to Vancouver soon, a couple of restaurants I NEVER miss when visiting are: Samuri Sushi (so yummy, so cheap, so fresh!), and Stepho's greek food. They are about five doors from each other both on Davie Street close to the Park Hill Hotel across the street from Shopper's Drug Mart.

Another place which I completely fell in love with was Lake Louise! Though I only was there for a day, I can tell it's a place I'd love to explore.

I also loved Calgary! We went there on a trip through my husband's work and was given the royal treatment down to a barbeque on a ranch. I'd love to take a train from Vancouver to Calgary, anyone have experienced that before?
