Your comment that you thought pot-au-feu is traditionally made with fish sent me off investigating. Not so. Translated it means pot on the stove; it's a stockpot soup which can be made many ways, most commonly with beef. Pretty darn good comfort food. Speaking of which, how was your weather in Paris?
