Hi Ira,
If you are looking for a short visit of about two or three hours near
Padua you might be interested in the Abbazia di Praglia. It's
located in a quiet place not far from the Colli Euganei. You can
visit several cloisters from different centuries. When I was there
they showed me how they where restauring old books. The monks are
making their own wine and food. They sold special sweets made from
honey which were very appreciated as a souvenir when I was back home.
There is a website about Abbazia di Praglia in italian language which
was created by school children who had been visiting the abbey at
http://www.windnet.it/guinizelli/abbazipr.htm
and an English one at
http://www.apt.padova.it/otg-en/peritifede13.htm
